No matter how much you are earning or whether you are unemployed or whether you are wealthy and extremely busy one should always make time for helping those less fortunate. There are homeless people in every city, children who need a big brother or a big sister, battered women who need support and kids being abused.
You can help!
Simply giving money to a problem is not the answer.
DO SOMETHING!
When you do you feel good and when you feel good great things happen to you.
When you feel good you are a better person and you do better work.
Employers should encourage your employees to DO good deeds in the community and see how their production increases at work and see how their interactions with each other and with your customers gets better.
Some Ideas:
- Next Pay Day go to your local Dollar Store and buy $20 worth of underwear and take it to your local homeless shelter. Do this Yourself - Don't just give them the money. Do The WHOLE Deed!
- The following Pay Day go to your local Wal-Mart and buy as many Pyjama's as $20 will buy and take it down to your local shelter for abused women.
- Go to retail stores in your area and see if they have clothes that they have not been able to sell. Offer to take it from them for one of the local shelters. If they need a letter from the shelter, the shelter would be more than willing to help.
- Go to your local grocery store and offer to take fruit or food that they might want to donate to the local shelters. Many stores discard slightly ripe fruit for example.
- The managers of some stores have a discretionary budget to donate to local organizations. Simply by asking you might be able to get them to help your efforts.
Keep watching this space and read my blogs as I will post more ideas here. I prefer to try the ideas out so I only post things that I have done.
